Neither Hamas nor the resistance
fighters are terrorist groups to us:
Martin Griffiths, head of the
United Nations Relief and Humanitarian Assistance (OCHA), said, "For us,
Hamas or the resistance fighters are not terrorist organizations." It is a
political ideology.
He said these things in an
interview given to Sky News on Wednesday. The Israeli media The Times of Israel
has reported this news.
Israel has recently insisted that
Hamas will not be part of a future Palestine. When Martin Griffiths was asked
for his opinion, he said it is tough to remove
these organizations without any discussion. Because the organizations stand for
the dreams and goals of the community.
Martin Griffiths posted on social
media X (formerly Twitter) clarifying his statement on Thursday.
In the post, he said, "Just to
clarify, Hamas is not on the United Nations Security Council's list of
terrorist organizations." This does not, however, lessen the horror or
despicability of their actions on October 7. I have repeated this numerous
times.
In an interview with Sky News, the
OCHA chief said, "If you want to be safe with people who are inevitably
going to be your neighbours, you have to build a relationship with them based on
shared values."
Meanwhile, Israel strongly criticized these words of Martin Griffiths. Damn him (Martin Griffiths), as the nation's foreign minister Israel Katz wrote on the X platform! The UN's standing is deteriorating daily. We will destroy Hamas, UN backing or not. Jewish ancestry is expensive.
Israel's ambassador to the UN,
Gilad Erdan, said the UN's anti-Hamas position had finally been exposed on TV.
Is it not terrorism when hundreds of civilians are brutally killed? Is this
planned female rape not terroristic? Is attempted Jewish genocide not
considered terrorism?
Incidentally, on October 7 last
year, the fighters of Hamas, the group that controls the Gaza Strip in
Palestine, carried out an ambush on the northern border of Gaza, killed 1,200
people and captured 240 Israelis and foreigners. Since the unprecedented
attack, Israeli forces have been conducting operations in Gaza.
The death toll in Gaza has reached
nearly 29,000 since the start of the campaign, which has been ongoing for more
than four months. More than 70 thousand people were injured. Most of the
casualties were women and children. In addition, millions of Palestinians have
lost their homes due to the shelling of Israeli forces.
